Research Fellows

The Saratoga Foundation for Women Worldwide is pleased to present our international research team based around the globe. These individuals possess impressive professional and academic credentials and serve a crucial role in the research and development of the Foundation's programs.

Sharmin Sultan

Sharmin Sultan is a native of Dhaka, Bangladesh, currently working towards her Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from the St. Cloud State University. In the year 2000, Sharmin spent time in the United States, studying at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota where she participated in organizations such as Amnesty International, Economics Club, International Students Association, among others. Her focus is to ensure the empowerment of women in Bangladesh so that they can be an active part of the development process. Sharmin has worked as a economics columnist and contributing writer for national dailies such as The Daily Bhorer Kagoj and The Daily Star.

 

Anjani Sarma

Anjani Sarma is a native of India, residing in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Anjani possesses a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Bombay, Mumbai, India, a Masters of Arts in Economics and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics form the University of Bombay. She has worked as an Economics Lecturer at the University of Bombay and as an Assistant Industry Analyst at the Center for Monitoring the Indian Economy, Mumbai, India. Anjani is developing the Foundation's micro finance program for poor women in India.

Stella Nabukeera

Stella Nabukeera is a native of Uganda, currently residing in the United Kingdom. Stella is currently developing SFWW's Micro Finanace Program in Uganda where the Foundation plans to offer rural women low interest loans to finance small business.

 

 

 

Feroz Shaqueeque

Feroz Shaqueeque lives in Bagalore, India and has researched and written papers for the Foundation on environmental health and a paper on genetically engineered food entitled: "Genetically Engineered Food: Effects on Health and Human Rights Around the World." Currently, he is researching the lives of girls and women in India and preparing an in-depth research paper on this topic. Feroz possesses a Masters of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Calicut, India. He is currently employed by Cepha Imaging Technologies in Ganalore, India.

 

 

Annie Burns

Annie Burns is a highly-talented and motivated 2003 graduate of Skidmore College located in Saratoga Springs, New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and Sociology. Annie joined the Saratoga Foundation for Women WorldWide in June, 2002 as a Research Assistant and developed the curriculum for the organization's Next Generation Earth Care environmental health education program taught to school children. Annie has written numerous policy papers on health, the environment, micro-credit finance, the hormone rBGH injected into cows, and human rights. She is currently developing anti-violence curriculum to educate middle and high school students about the issues of harassment, discrimination, domestic violence, relationship abuse and sexual assault which will be launched as a pilot program in the areas surrounding office operations.

Rupa Suresh

Rupa Suresh is a Native of Pakistan currently living in Sayville, New York. Rupa is developing the micro finance program for Pakistan to enable poor women to obtain business loans. Rupa holds a Masters Degree in Dietetics.
