Saratoga Foundation for Women Worldwide Internship Program
The Saratoga Foundation for Women Worldwide seeks internship candidates
for the summer, fall and winter/spring semesters
of each year. Two-four unpaid Research Assistant
positions are available each semester. Government,
business, education, biology and womens
studies majors are invited to apply. Candidates
must be a junior or senior and possess exceptional
research, writing, computer and communication/networking
skills.
Individuals who possess a background in womens
studies and/or government are preferred, however,
all candidates are invited to apply. Students
with a business background who possess marketing
and advertising experience and interest in the
work of an international, non-profit organization
are desired. Candidates must possess a sense of
humor.
Students who have a background in government
and/or womens issues will find this internship
exciting. The internship provides a valuable opportunity
to learn how the actions of transnational corporations
and governments worldwide affect womens
human rights. Students will study the operation
of the United Nations, state legislatures and
U.S. Congress and learn how to affect change.
This is an activist internship where coverage
of meetings/conferences in the field is encouraged.
Several major research projects are the focus
of the internship. Marketing, advertising and
strategic planning of The Saratoga Foundation for Women Worldwide
is a key component of this professional experience.
Interns will work alongside the President and
Chief Executive Officer who is a practicing attorney.
Individuals should work with their advisor to
arrange 3-6 credit hours for a ten-twenty hour
work week.
